Beginning in September 2011, we will be offering a webinars on a diverse range of EU topics including; State-aid, Data Protection in the EU, and EU-China Relations. We will be hosting two sessions in the month of September and one session each month after that. The sessions will take place on a Wednesday between 12-13:15. Our goal is to create a schedule that is easy to follow for professionals. Just grab a laptop, some lunch, and make sure you have an Internet connection.
Why Webinars
The Educational Development Unit (EDU) of the IES has decided to focus on the development of a webinar series. Though originally tied to the IES’s well-established training sessions, the webinar series has become a stand-alone initiative. Our decision to move to this online platform came in response to an increased demand of flexibility regarding our training sessions. You can now experience academic and professional training on a wide range of EU matters on your computer, wherever you are.
Webinars provide instructors with the ability to teach in a traditional “face to face” setting while providing users with the flexibility of accessing the session remotely.
Digital Innovation
The Elluminate platform used for the Wednesday Webinar Series is a clear example of E-learning innovation. Users are able to communicate directly with the instructor, creating a dynamic opportunity to instantly tailor feedback and information to your professional needs. Users can also interact with each other over voice, video, and type chat during the session, meaning that you will be able to build your professional network while debating these important topics. Finally, the most versatile aspect of the Elluminate platform is that it doesn’t require installation, simply access the platform and your training session via the Internet.
